New Year, New Prime
Happy New Year! And happy birthday to us. February 2018 marks Prime’s 4th birthday. We could not be happier to do what we do and learn every day from our clients and candidates. Our careers are rewarded by helping others find rewarding careers. It is very fulfilling.
Since our inception in 2014, our firm has remained squarely focused on one thing: the Chief of Staff. I started Prime hoping to first promote and educate leaders and organizations on the Chief of Staff position, then help them find the “right hand” talent they need. This approach led Prime to work with some incredible organizations of all sizes—from as small as 2 employees to as large as 80,000.
As a result of our efforts in placement, we realized our work was not done. Once Chiefs of Staff are hired within organizations, they often require additional support – from their critical first six months to their decision to transition to that next step. As we know, so few resources exist for Chiefs of Staff. And we are working hard to change that. Therefore, Prime is excited to expand its service offering to include onboarding, development, and coaching to its clients.
As part of our efforts to provide more resources to prospective and current Chiefs of Staff, we want to engage more formally with professionals, not just organizations.
Therefore, Prime is undergoing a website update and building out a new professional “portal” on our site for those interested in learning more about the pivotal Chief of Staff role, whether new to the position or seasoned veterans. We want to provide a platform for COSs to connect, learn, and find opportunities.
In addition to our digital efforts, Prime will also begin sponsoring COS in-market “meet-ups” in 2018. If you are interested in spearheading a group of Chiefs of Staff in your U.S. city, we can help – and we’ll even pick up the tab!
We need other Chiefs of Staff to champion this role and spread its good word. Many incredibly talented people are doing this already across the U.S. – and it has us very energized! Caroline Pugh, Chief of Staff at Care Journey in Washington, D.C., for example, has amassed an impressive group of COSs in her area to meet, mingle, and learn from each other. She was interviewed in this recent Forbes article (and Prime is mentioned as well).
Our network of aspiring and current Chiefs of Staff make us better every day. If you want to provide your thoughts, perspectives, and/or interest on our professional portal or COS meetups, please contact us to discuss further. We are happy to hear from you.
We are so grateful for the clients, professionals, partners, and friends who have helped us make our first four years a success! As we look ahead to a new year, we are excited about what’s in store for our firm and what we still have to learn.
Thanks for hanging with us.
